Sabah 2

In the 1960's and 1970's during the political strife of that period, a lot of  Philippine people moved to other places such as Borneo, and built the stilt homes on the shore of the island just across from Kota Kinabalu.  The government would like to see them gone.  According to some people we have talked to they provide the labour for construction projects whereas the Malaysians prefer the office  jobs.

I have seen many things done to get the job done, but seeing three grown men strip down to their shorts to hook a running water line back up beats the cake. They struggled to hook it up, but in the end they failed.  Soaked, they had to consider finding another way.
