We fly into Xian to see another historical site on our bucket list, and were picked up by our guide, Tai.
Provincial Museum: Explored the provincial history museum--lot of artifacts from back as far as the earliest man discovered in China.
As a prelude to our visit to the terra cotta warriors centre, we were shown through a pottery and ceramics centre which makes terra cotta warriors from the same clay that the original warriors were made.

Terra cotta warriors Centre: In 1985, five Chinese workers were digging a well for water. While doing so, they unearthed some pottery shards. Of course, this led to the archeological find of the tomb for an emperor. He had bigger than life warriors, horses, stablemen, wooden chariots built to protect him during his afterlife. He started when he became emperor at 13 years of age, and it took 38 years to build. There is only one of the workers who made the discovery still alive.
We were entertained with the Tang Dynasty Show--a graceful and beautiful dance and music show. The musicians were playing instruments I had never seen before.
Onto to Shanghai next.
